SEMIYA KHEER

                                                  SEMIYA KHEER 

Semiya kheer is one of the sweet receipe using milk with some added flavours. This is one of my recent favourite and can also be served as a prasadam for god 

Lets get started 


INGREDIENTS 
Semiya - 1 cup 
Milk - 5 cups 
Water - 2 cups
Sugar - 1 cup  
Cashews (slited) - 10
Elaichi(crushed) - 2 pods 
Ghee - 1 tsp 

PROCEDURE 
- In a kadai add in semiya and dry roast for 1 mins 
- In a same kadai add in ghee and roast the cashews and keep aside 
- In a same kadai add in 3 cups of milk and 2 cups of water and allow it to boil 
- Once boiled add in semiya and allow it to cook till it becomes soft 
- Once semiya cooked well add in sugar and crushed elaichi 
- Allow it to boil for 30 to 40 seconds 
- Finally add in remaining milk and boil for 1 minute 
- Add in roasted cashew 
- Semiya kheer is ready to serve 

STEP BY STEP PICTURES 




In a kadai add in semiya 






Dry roast for 2 minutes till aroma comes out 






In a same kadai add in ghee 







Add in cashews and roast 







Roast till it becomes golden brown and keep aside 






In a same kadai add in 3 cups of milk and 2 cups of water 






Allow it to boil







Add in roasted semiya 







Allow it to cook till it becomes soft 






Add in sugar 







Add in crushed elaichi 







Add in roasted cashews 







Add in remaining milk and allow to boil for 30 seconds 






Hot semiya kheer is ready to serve





TIPS 
- You can add saffron if you need it gives nice rich taste 
- You can also add badam and raisins roasted in ghee 
- Cup measurement can be done in any cup like tumbler or anything 
- Milk and water proportion can be changed according to your desire
