Onion garlic chutney is type of chutney which I used to do when I was studying college . During my college days there was no internet only TV cooking shows. I saw this receipe in one of TV cook show and I tried it and came out really good.
INGREDIENTS
Onions - 1 cup
Garlic - 1/2 cup
Channa dhal - 1 tbsp
Urad dhal - 1/2 tbsp
Tamarind- small piece
Red chillies - 5
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt - to taste
TO TEMPER
Oil - 1 tbsp
Mustard - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 1 strand
Asafoetida - 1/2 tsp
PROCEDURE
- Add oil in a kadai add red chillies saute for a minute
- Add in channa dhal and urad dhal saute for a minute till golden
- Add in garlic and saute till it's aroma comes
- Add in onions and saute till it becomes transparent and turn of the stove
- Add salt, tamarind and grind to smooth chutney
- In a kadai add to temper items and pour it on a chutney
- Mix well and can serve it with hot idlies or dosas
