MRIYAM (ONION CHUTNEY)
This onion chutney especially goes well with toordhal idly which is the best combo ever I had.But this goes well idli,dosa, chapathi also.We call this chutney as mriyam.
INGREDIENTS
Onions - 4 big
Red chillies - 5
Jaggery - small piece
Tamarind - one small lemon size
Salt - to taste
TO TEMPER
Sesame oil - 2 tbsp
Mustard - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 1 strand
Asafoetida - a pinch
METHOD
- Grind all the above ingredients into a smooth paste
- In kadai add oil and add TO TEMPER items and saute for 10 sec
- Add the grinded mixture into kadai and saute till the raw smell goes
- Colour will change into nice red colour now turn off the stove.
- Chutney is ready to serve
SERVING SUGGESTIONS
- This chutney goes well with idli, dosa, chapati, toor dhal idly, etc.,
