CHANNA DHAL (KADALAI PARUPPU) SUNDAL

       CHANNA DHAL (KADALAI PARUPPU)                                          SUNDAL 

Kadalai paruppu is one of the main ingredient in South Indian cooking. Using this kadalai paruppu they make sundal also. This sundal is served as prasadam as one of the navarthri time 

Lets get started 


INGREDIENTS 
Channa dhal - 1/2 cup 
Water - 1 cup 
Mustard - 1 tsp 
Curry leaves - 1 strand 
Green chilli paste - 1 tsp 
Coconut - 1 tsp 
Salt - to taste 

PROCEDURE 
- Add channa dhal in a cooker add in little salt and water and cook for 3 to 4 whistles 
- Once cooked drain the water and keep aside
- In a kadai add in oil 
- Add in mustard and allow to splutter 
- Add in curry leaves, green chilli paste and saute for 5 seconds 
- Add in boiled channa dhal and mix evenly 
- Add in salt 
- Add in grated coconut adn mix evenly
- Hot kadalai paruppu sundal is ready to serve 

STEP BY STEP PICTURES 



In a cooker add in kadalai paruppu






Wash the dhal nicely and add water 






Add in pinch of salt and cook for 3 to 4 whistles 






Cook the dhal softly without losing its shape 






In a kadai add in oil 







Add in mustard and allow to splutter 







Add in curry leaves 






Add in green chilli paste 







Add in cooked dhal 







Add in salt and mix well 







Add in grated coconuts 







Mix well 







Hot channa dhal sundal is ready to serve
