TOMATO MASALA

                       TOMATO MASALA 

Tomato masala is my most favourite receipe which is my mom's receipe whenever she makes it we become very  happy and also we fight for it. This is perfect combination for dosa and chapathi. We usually spread in between dosa's and eat. 

                           

INGREDIENTS 
Tomatoes - 4
Onions - 2 
Salt - to taste 

TO TEMPER 
Oil - 1 tbsp 
Mustard  - 1 tsp 
Curry leaves - 1 strand 

TO GRIND 
Coconut - 1 cup 
Pottu kadalai - 1/2 cup 
Red chillies - 4 to 5 
Jeera - 1 tsp 
Asafoetida - 1 tsp 
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp 

PROCEDURE 
- Finely chop the onions and tomatoes 
- Grind all the TO GRIND items into a coarse paste by adding water 
- In a kadai add in oil add TO TEMPER items and allow it to splutter
- Add in chopped onions and saute till it becomes soft
- Add in chopped tomatoes and saute till it becomes mushy
- Add in grounded paste and 1 cup of water and give a good mix 
- Add in salt .
- Add more water if needed and let it boil for 10 minutes 
- Once boiled serve hot with dosa chapathi or poori 

SERVING SUGGESTIONS 
- You can apply masala inbetween dosa's and serve it as masala dosa

Finely chop in onions and tomatoes 









Take the all to grind items 









Grind to a coarse paste 






In a kadai add oil and add mustard 






Add in finely chopped onions 
saute till it cooks well 




Add in chopped tomatoes and saute till become soft and mushy 






Add in grinded masala ,water and salt and adjust the consistency 



Allow it to boil 





Serve hot
