RAVA IDLI

                            RAVA IDLI

Rava idli is most famous receipe in karanataka. There are lots of readymix available in the market. But my mom prepare on her own. I learnt it from her only. One of the most tasty and yummiest receipe ever. 


INGREDIENTS 
Rava ( sooji )- 1 cup
Thick curd - 2 cups 
Carrots (grated) - 2 tbsp 
Salt - to taste 
Baking soda - 1 tsp 

TO TEMPER 
Mustard - 1 tsp 
Channa dhal - 1 tsp 
Onions - 1/2 cup 
Green chillies - 1 tbsp 
Curry leaves - 1 strand 
Oil - 4 tbsp 

PROCEDURE 
- Dry roast rava in a tawa 
- In a kadai add in oil and all TO TEMPER items and saute for two minutes 
- In a bowl add roasted rava and all the sauted items and grated carrots and mix well 
- Add in thick curd ,salt, baking soda and mix well 
- Let it sit for 30 minutes 
- Make it like normal idlies 
- Serve it hot with coconut chutney

Dry roast rava in a kadai 








Add oil a kadai 










Add mustard 








Add in channa dhal 









Add in green chillies 









Add in curry leaves 










Add in finely chopped onions 








Add in pinch of salt and saute till it becomes transparent 









Add in roasted rava in a vessel









Add in sauted mixture 









Add in grated carrots 









Add in salt 









Add in thick curd 









Add in baking soda and mix well










Pour the batter in the idli plates and cook for about 15 minutes 







Serve it hot with coconut chutney
